Chamber Music

Student ensembles explore the rich chamber music repertoire through a diversity of instrumental groupings such as string quartets, wind quintets and various other mixed groupings. The instrumental chamber ensembles at UBC perform in small groups of approximately three to eight members. These musicians have the opportunity to perform a wide variety of pieces from baroque, classical and romantic to modern pieces suitable for small ensembles. The vocal chamber ensembles perform in groups of four to twenty members. These ensembles perform a variety of pieces from madrigals, motets and cantatas to contemporary pieces. To find out when one of our chamber ensembles is performing please visit our events calender.

If you are interested in performing in a chamber ensemble, auditions are held at the beginning of the fall semester. If you require more information on a particular chamber ensemble, please contact one of our directors listed below.
