Graduation
How to Apply
- If you plan on graduating, you must apply for graduation through the Student Service Centre.
- May graduation application deadline: February 28th (application opens on December 15th)
- November graduation application deadline: August 31st (application opens on June 15th)
Graduation Day Information
- Details about the date, time, gowns, tickets for the ceremony etc., are available at www.graduation.ubc.ca. The date for the 2009 graduation for School of Music students will be announced in mid-September.
Note: There is a live webcast of the ceremony on this site (http://www.graduation.ubc.ca/webcast/index.html) for any friends/family unavailable to attend but who would like to view the ceremony.
BMUS Degree Standing
- Class I, 80% and over; Class II, 65% to 79%; Pass, 50% to 64%. Official UBC calendar guidelines.
Photos & Class Composite - FREE
- Deadline: March 31st (November graduates have until March 31st of the next year)
- Evangelos Photography Ltd. has been contracted by MUSA to take your graduation photo and create the class composite at no cost to you. You pay only for prints you choose to order. To have your graduation photo taken and help create a complete class composite which will hang in the hallways of the School of Music for years to come, please make an appointment (by telephone only) with:

Key Return
- The key desk at UBC charges the School of Music for unreturned keys. Prior to graduation, please return any MUSIC BUILDING keys still in your possession to the UBC Access Control Key Desk to obtain your key refund (if applicable). At the UBC key desk, remember to ask for a print-out of the keys returned under your name and bring it to the receptionist at the Music Office for any additional deposit refund you are entitled to.
- Graduate students: also return your graduate mailbox key to Reception at the School of Music to obtain your $5 deposit.
- Students returning to the UBC School of Music for an additional degree in the September following May graduation are not required to return their keys.

Keeping in touch
- Stay in touch with UBC through Alumni Affairs. One way of doing so is updating your contact information by visiting www.alumni.ubc.ca.
During the graduation ceremonies there will be a tent at the Flag Pole Plaza where Alumni Relations will be collecting updated contact information and providing resources for new alumni.
