FINANCIAL AID
In order to qualify for student loans, UBC undergraduate students must register in 60% of a full-time course load during both Winter sessions terms. Audited, wait-listed and withdrawn courses do not count towards the course load. To view the exact course load requirements for your degree program: click here.
Apart from scholarships, students may apply for the following sources of undergraduate student aid:
- Student Loans: for Canadian and USA students (if possible, apply by June 30th for timely processing)
- Need-based bursaries (three types):
Administered by the office of Student Financial Assistance & Awards, and given largely on the basis of need.
- General (Deadline to apply: September 15 for winter session; June 1 for summer session)
- Entrance (Deadline to apply: February 28th)
- Affiliation (Deadline to apply: June 30th)
- Work: Part-time work on-campus
